Greek preserves made from fruit grown where it belongs — figs from Kalamata, peaches and apricots from the mainland — each paired with a second ingredient that stops the jar being just jam.
These work as cheeseboard preserves as much as toast preserves. The fig does more next to a hard cheese than most chutneys manage.
How to use them
- Cheeseboards — fig with manchego or pecorino; apricot with soft goat cheese
- Greek yogurt — a spoonful of the lemon ginger is the intended use
- Toast and scones — the obvious one, still the best one
- Glazes — orange whiskey over roast ham or duck
Choose your jar
- Fig Preserves — Kalamata figs; deep, honeyed, the cheeseboard essential
- Orange & Whiskey Marmalade — Greek oranges with cooked whisky; bitter, warm, adult
- Apricot & Bitter Almond — sweet apricot cut with Greek bitter almond
- Strawberry & Basil — a sophisticated turn on the classic; strawberry with fresh basil
- Peach & Masticha Chiou — mainland peaches with mastic gum, a rare Greek resin with a pine-clean aroma. The most unusual jar of the set
- Apple & Cinnamon — tastes like apple pie filling, and no apology for it
- Lemon & Caramelized Ginger — bright, spicy and sharp; the wake-up jar
