The Palmetto Sauce Co. Congaree Gold BBQ Sauce

The Palmetto Sauce Co. Congaree Gold is a South Carolina mustard-based BBQ sauce, blended from mustard, pepper, vinegar and other spices with a faint hint of sweetness. It is named for the Congaree River, which runs through Columbia in central South Carolina.

German settlers brought mustard to the state's Midlands, and barbecue sauces there have traditionally been mustard based. This one is not overly sweet, and it is sweetened with cane sugar rather than high-fructose corn sweetener. It is gluten free, so keep some bread handy for dipping.
