ECOS Home Cleaning Essentials covers four plant-powered cleaners for the house: a furniture polish and cleaner, a shower cleaner, a cedar toilet cleaner and a window cleaner.
Olive oil in the furniture polish conditions wood finishes and leaves them streak-free. Mineral-based water softeners in the shower cleaner remove smudges, soap scum and stains, and tea tree oil gives it a fresh scent. Cedar oil and citric acid go into the toilet cleaner, a certified Safer Choice product that is readily biodegradable, greywater safe and septic safe. For glass, mirrors and other surfaces, the window cleaner uses vinegar instead of ammonia to cut grease and grime, and it dries quickly.

Furniture polish: spray a few times from about 8 inches away and wipe right away with a soft, clean cloth. Do not use on floors, as it can make them slippery.
Shower cleaner: spray on any shower surface and wipe clean. For daily protection against water spots, fingerprints and soap scum, mist glass, tub, tile and fixtures after each shower and leave it on until the next shower rinses it off.
Toilet cleaner: squeeze around the bowl and under the rim, let it sit 5 to 10 minutes, then flush. For heavier cleaning, scrub with a brush first.
Window cleaner: spray directly on the glass and wipe with a clean cloth.
