Beyond Good Madagascar Vanilla Beans are Grade A Madagascar Bourbon vanilla beans, hand-cultivated on the northeast coast of Madagascar.
Split a bean and scrape out the seeds to use in place of vanilla extract or vanilla paste, without alcohol. The seeds from one pod equal about 3 teaspoons of vanilla extract. They suit homemade whipped cream, vanilla ice cream and crème brûlée, and show up as visible flecks in a dessert.
Keep the pods after scraping. Used pods can go into vanilla sugar, vanilla salt or vanilla oil.
