Makrut (Kaffir) Lime Leaf Powder

Angkor Cambodian Food Makrut (Kaffir) Lime Leaf Powder is ground organic makrut lime leaf, grown organically in California. Makrut lime leaves are used widely in Cambodian cooking. They go into "Kroeung" and garnish dishes such as Amok and Prahok Ktis, and in traditional Cambodian chicken and lime soup (Sgow Chrouk Moan) whole leaves are simmered and lifted out of the broth before serving. Their pungent character gives the cuisine its distinctive flavor and fragrance.

The powder is for dishes where you want the flavor of the leaves without biting into pieces of them. One teaspoon is roughly equal to 1 tablespoon of fresh minced makrut lime leaves, or 3 whole medium leaves.
